How Miss Clementine chose us

New discoveries in our Growing Nursery for 2025

As a growing nursery, we are always on the lookout for new plants, exciting opportunities, and ways to innovate our offerings. In 2024, our dedication to this pursuit brought us a delightful surprise in the form of a plant we never expected to see.

Last summer, while continuing our peat-free trials, we received a batch of Geum ‘Totally Tangerine’ from our trusted breeder.

However, when the plants began to bloom, our team noticed something unusual. These flowers, while still a gorgeous orange hue and saucer-shaped but appeared in loose clusters – unlike the usual single blooms of ‘Totally Tangerine.’

Curious, we reached out to our breeder, who was just as surprised as we were.

It turns out, the plants were sent to us by mistake! What we had on our hands was an entirely new variety, Geum ‘Miss Clementine.’

We were incredibly fortunate to get an early glimpse of these beautiful flowers, and now, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been able to home-grow Miss Clementine right here in our nursery.
